To Register a Restricted Domain for Registry;

For companies;

  • "Activity Certificate", "Trade Registry Certificate", "Chamber Registry Record Copy" obtained from the Chamber of Commerce or the trade name announcement published in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette. Activity certificates must have been obtained for the last six (6) months.

For Trademark Registration Certificate Holders;

  1. a) Domain Name Allocation Form (petition),
  2. b) "Trademark Registration Certificate" or "Trademark Application Certificate" obtained from the Turkish Patent Institute.
  3. c) The requested domain name must be exactly the same as the name on the trademark registration document.
  4. d) If the Brand Owner is an individual, a photocopy of his/her ID.
  5. e) If any transfer process has been made on the Trademark, the Trademark Transfer Agreement obtained from the Turkish Patent Institute must be submitted.
  6. f) If the trademark registration certificate is in the name of more than one person, a photocopy of the identity of each person and their name must be included in the petition with their signature.

All requested domain names (domain name) must be exactly the same as the title in the document to be declared. When evaluating the documents sent to the ".tr" domain name management by the relevant organization for the domain names to be allocated; the phrases that constitute the "distinctive" and "main element" of the brand, trade name etc. in the relevant document are taken as basis. The elements that constitute the auxiliary element of the relevant title or brand and define the field of activity or sector etc. are not considered as the main element.

For example; “ÖRNEK İnşaat Yatırım İthalat İhracat Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.” can get the domain names “ornek.com.tr” or “ornekinsaat.com.tr” which are the distinguishing and essential elements. It cannot get the domain names “tekstil.com.tr”, “ithalat.com.tr”, “ihracat.com.tr”, “ticaret.com.tr”.

Note: One of the documents other than the domain name allocation form is sufficient.
